Education in the light of Swamiji's vision
Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science and Technology (SVIST) is run by a non-profit trust set up to promote high-standard technological and professional education, preparing students not just for professional challenges, but for every challenge life offers.
Who we are
Established in 2008 at Dakshin Gobindapur, Sonarpur, SVIST is a unit of the Swami Vivekananda Group of Institutes (SVGI). The institute is NAAC accredited with Grade B++ (CGPA 2.82 on a 4-point scale, Cycle 2, valid to May 2030), approved by AICTE, and affiliated to MAKAUT (for B.Tech and MBA) and WBSCTE (for Diploma programmes). Course fees follow Government of West Bengal rules: quality engineering education at honest, regulated fees.
In an era of globalization and rapid technological advancement, our effort is to spread quality education throughout society, in the light of Swami Vivekananda's vision, the mission behind our motto, “Driven by his mission”.

Principal's Message

Dr. Sonali Ghosh (Sarkar)
Principal · Ph.D. (IIT Kharagpur)
Dr. Ghosh holds a B.Sc. (H), B.Tech. and M.Tech. from the University of Calcutta and a Ph.D. from IIT Kharagpur (Institute Scholarship), with 24 years of teaching and 9 years of research experience, 13 research publications, 11 patents, and professional membership of the ACM. Her certifications span AICTE, Wipro, TCS iON, the British Council, WHO and the University of Illinois, and she has served as a WBJEE observer and international conference session chair.
